Steeping Instructions: Per Cup of HOT BLUE TEA: Use 5-7 dried flowers per 8 oz. water (212 degrees or slightly below boiling) Steep for 7-9 minutes. Enjoy hot or chill/pour over ice. Add A squeeze of lemon for a dramatic color change! (Indigo Blue to a pretty pink!) Traditionally served in Asia, as a stomach settling beverage after a meal with or without honey.

Packed size(s) makes 12-20 cups based on single infusion  or 1/2 Gallon of Lemonade (may receive more cups based on number of infusions or if making Butterfly Pea Sweet Tea Lemonade )

HERE'S OUR ūüĆĪFARM FAVORITE RECIPE FOR:

BUTTERFLY PEA SWEET TEA COLOR CHANGING LEMONADE Makes 6 glasses lemonade

5 cups filtered water divided

1 cup granulated sugar

1 packet dried butterfly pea flowers

1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

In a saucepan, combine 3 cups filtered water with sugar.  Stir in Butterfly Pea Flowers.  Bring to a simmer.  Remove from heat, cover, and let steep 10 minutes.  Strain out flowers thru a sieve. Set aside to cool or in the refrigerator 4-6 hours.

In a glass jar or measuring cup, combine lemon juice and remaining 2 cups water.  

To serve, fill glasses with ice. Pour cooled butterfly pea syrup into glass, filling about 1/2 way. Pour lemon mixture on top and watch the color changing magic happen! Where the lemon meets the syrup, the color will change from blue to pink. Stir to combine the two mixtures until the color is pink throughout. Enjoy!

To make (2) 16 oz. glasses - adjust recipe as follows

1 1/4 cup filtered water divided

1/4 cup granulated sugar

10-14 dried flowers 

1/4 cup lemon juice

In a saucepan, combine 3/4 cup filtered water with sugar.  Stir in Butterfly Pea Flowers.  Bring to a simmer.  Remove from heat, cover, and let steep 10 minutes.  Strain out flowers thru a sieve. Set aside to cool or in the refrigerator 1 hour.

In a glass, combine lemon juice and remaining 1/2 cup water.

To serve, fill 2 glasses with ice. Pour cooled butterfly pea syrup into glass, filling about 1/2 way. Pour lemon mixture on top and watch the color changing magic happen! Where the lemon meets the syrup, the color will change from blue to pink. Stir to combine the two mixtures until the color is pink throughout. Enjoy!
